We are an 4-month education platform that will give the tools to be a technologist or a tech designer. We also will have the ability to work on a project together and then have the opportunity to meet with professionals who are applying what we have learned with today's best employers.
The following list contains companies that we have helped our students land professional positions with after college.
We are a education tool for ambitious students that are looking for success by learning technology from experts. Built by the best practitioners and delivered online, we are a new movement in career achievement. We are OhioAward.
Our 100% online classes start Sunday, January 12th, and close May 31th, 2018. There will also be four suggested deadlines mid-course, but those dates depend on which track you decide to take.
Our offering is as follows: Game Developer, Web Developer, IOS Developer (for the Apple App Store), Android Developer (for the Android Store), and Graphic Designer.
We believe starting something is the best way to learn and we understand that your first choice might not be the best choice. Just let us know which track you want to try next. Note: No need to worry about time being an issue when switching tracks, we will work with you.
We understand you’re a student and we think school is important too! Therefore, we’ve designed the program in a way that you can work at your own pace. In total, the program should take between 30 and 60 hours to complete. This might sound daunting so we split all the sections into four “sprints,” which are designed to keep you on track.
Absolutely! Once you finish your first track, just let us know which track you would like to do next.
We have focused the education to high school students, but are open to any age. Education is important for the Columbus community.
When you finish a track, you will be invited to an event, hosted by us, where you can work with other OhioAward graduates on a group project to create the next Snapchat or killer website. As for the summer, we are finalizing the details of our job shadowing program where you’ll be able to see what the day to day activities look like in tech roles at big companies in our backyard.
Our goal is to teach the foundational tech skills predominately for high schoolers so they are prepared to disrupt the workforce. However, OhioAward is open to all ages. Our ultimate goal is create programs that lead to actual full-time summer internships. Imagine getting paid for building technology in the summer, which you can talk about in scholarship applications, college applications, and job interviews. These people are looking for experience and that’s exactly what we provide.
Our program is totally free, we just need verification that you are a Columbus resident therefore all we ask is you have access to a Columbus Metropolitan Library. When we launch the program, we will need the card number and the name associated with it. No worries, if you don’t have one, we can help with that as well--it’s easy and free to sign up.
This year, we will be hosting job tours at various local Fortune 500 companies with technology sectors. This will give you the opportunity to see what the day-to-day looks like as a technologist, some of the highlights of what they’ve built, and first-hand information about what it’s like to work at these great companies.
That's right. We are an initiative from the Midwest and love it here in the land of O-H-I-O. We're here to provide the best technology education from the best prefessors in the world.
